Vinyl Based Plank Flooring Standard – Hybrid, SPC, EPC, LVP

This publication provides industry recommendations for the installation of rigid vinyl-based flooring planks laid as floating floors, or in the case of the flexible plank products, the method of direct adhesive fixing to structural subfloors. It does not include self-adhesive products that are mainly sold to the DIY market. Generally, floors of this type are of multilayered construction with a decorative layer resembling timber flooring, although one product type that will be covered incorporates a timber veneer.

When installing vinyl-based planks many aspects must be considered, and these include assessing the house design; environment in which the floor is to be laid; and the desired appearance of the finished floor. These aspects are covered along with information on product differences and plank sizes that will aid in product specification.
